By Sodiq Adebayo

Prior to the emergence of corona virus in the most populated country in the world, China. It has claimed many lives. However, none could ever imagine that the canker worm could spread from the abode to the whole so easily and readily. Now, currently speaking, no country in the planet is safe. We're all scared and felt concerned as our brothers and sisters from far and near are victims already.

Education Is a Nightmare In Nigeria

By Ashimolowo Oyindamola Mistura

I stared at the TV with keen interest rest, a show for children was going on and they chorused the same song we were taught years back.
How long will we lie to these ones? How long will we keep the truth wrapped in a mystery ? Mystery unleashed when the reality slaps us hard in the face. We are in a rat race, a game of deceit and everyone is running to get a badge blindly and gullibly.
Who said education was limited to four walls, a white board, chairs and a table to sit on? Who cooked this broth if fantasies that had been responsible for so many youths sinking?
Many youths are blinded like a bat, they even drag whose dilapidated facility is the best!  I was just a teen but life befriended me with a lot of realities. At primary school we would play around and froth our worries into bubbles , we were beaten for failed assignments, still did not worry because our teacher was always right even though their shoes and shirts said otherwise.
I would see a young …

My Encounter With Some Religious Fanatics

By Abdul Azeez Akanji
Have you ever did an interview and being disqualified because of your religion?
I remember these words " we're sorry to say, this television company is a Christian private own company and due to the fact that you are a Muslim we can't employ you". As an advocate of humanitarian activity, I tried to tell them "we are the same", being a Muslim, a Christian, a pagan or a traditionalist does not matter but what matters most is our way of dealing with "humans".

A Christian friend was searching for a job, and I helped him to get to a school in Ibadan, they looked at his curriculum vitae and said although he's a first-class accounting student but he's a Christian, they can't employ a Christian in their school. I became "dumb" hearing these words. As usual, I let them realized that the religion we are practicing does not really define our closeness to Almighty God but what truly defines us is our service to human…

Golden Spoon

A poem by Olakunle Seun
..Ours is a golden spoon..
To us a golden gift  is given, By our resources it was birthed, Mother nature freely gave, Bestowed and endowed, Never expecting a return.
All of us she freely bestowed, Lavishing it all without a retain, Freely and cheerfully, We all received, The golden gift of mother nature.
Its protection, unity she prescribed, Its longevity, oneness she described, Continuous glittering of it,tribalism she denied, Its trans generational existence, togetherness she suggest, Its value and adornment, oness of voice she opined.
But alas, her suggestion all turned gibberish, Her suggestion at first we received, For her not to hold any back, But upon giving all, We denied the opinion of a faithful giver.
To us a large population belongs, The gift has its source from here, The best land is here with us, Intellectuals to us belong, The echo of our selfish ambitions.
Unity turned enmity, Empathy turned unconcerned, Togetherness turned diversity, Oness turned tribalism, Unity that once exi…

My Encounter with a Cultist

By Akanji Abdul Azeez

Ridwanullahi was a brother and a senior in secondary, a very huge senior. His status makes all the junior ones to respect him because if anybody mess up with him, he will mercilessly deal with the person. With his status, muscle, and authority as a senior, he became a terror in the school and everybody respect him. He usually tells us that his dream is to become a soldier because he like a rugged lifestyle.
Ridwanullahi got admitted to a very popular higher institution in the southern part of Nigeria and he continue to be "rugged" until he was rusticated from higher institution. I met him 2 years after he left me in secondary school and when I met him, I ask him how is higher institution was fast. Since I was ignorant then and I don't know anything about higher institution.
He told me, my brother, I was rusticated from school. Immediately he told me that, I look for the meaning of rusticated and I felt sad for him because he once told me while we wer…

DEMOCRAZY

By  Olakunle Seun
At Eight, electorates all on the Queue, "Exercising our franchise, "We need to entrust them with power, It will be good they govern our affairs", The echo of the deceived.
Full white Regalia, Smiles like and innocent beasts, False Association, " Democracy is for all,but we will awesomely represent you", The psalms of the deceivers.
"We have noticed your plight in years past, " Awesome representation will be ensured in this Republic, " The dividents of Democracy, will not be denied you, "With love we will represent you" " For the same Blood we share runs in our veins".
"We are all childrens of this Land, We both share the same Ancestors, We all sat together at the bossom of mother nature, With the same identity uniting us, We all belong to the same lineage"

With Joy we received their "propaganlies" These ones will never disappointed us, His father,is the brother to my mum, He served while we were on campus, The co…

By Abdul Azeez Akanji
Yahoo guys as we usually call them are youth who carries out fraudulent activity also known as 419.   Their activities have been rampant in Nigeria in recent years and this has become a source of concern for the government and conscious citizens of Nigeria.
My encounter with a  Yahoo guy in Lagos make me understand why these vibrant youths engaged in fraudulent act. This man was in his early 30th and my curiosity make me to engage in a conversation with him, from our conversation he told me " Azeez, I'm a first-class graduate from Uniben in the department of Engineering but six years after my graduation from University, I was not able to secure a job and fortunately for me, I got a teaching job in a private school where they pay me 8,500 per month, the salary was not encouraging and out of frustration I left the teaching job".

To get more information from him, I ask him what push him to "Yahoo Yahoo act" and he told me after he left the teach…

Cherish her - A Poem

By Seun Alabi To Her..
To her, To her you must write, The hymn of my pen, Write to her, unravelling her beauty, Unravelling her beauty than the Sapphires.
To her an archytpe of tender heartedness, To her an embodiment of fortunes, To her an Epitome of glad tidings, Write to her exposing her good deeds, Write to her appreciating an angel on earth.
Flowers are Beautiful, Sapphires glows, Alabaster smells nice, But the beauty of flowers and glowings of sapphire, Are not worth comparing to her Beauty.
The Glows of her eyes soothes the heart, Like the cold to the skin, Is the touch of her hand, Like the honey to the mouth, Is the expression of her lips.
By her name I have known, How caring she will be, By her smile I predict how tendered hearted she will be, By her humility I have known how great she will be, And closer to her I confirm, the thoughts in my heart. What every man should do...

My Encounter with a Prostitute (Olosho)

⁩By Akanji Abdul Azeez
Olosho as we call them are people like us. Most of them are into it because of the rejection they got from family, friends, and society. Although it’s not a good idea to venture into such an act but every action has a reason.
My encounter with Nigerian Olosho in Côte d’Ivoire made me to understand that most of them are into it against there will. I have a secondary school friend that is their agent and I don’t know he was into this business until he asked me to meet him in a club and that club was full of olosho.
I was surprised to see pretty girls of age 18-23, when I approached one of them and entertained her with beer and try to push her mouth for her to talk. That’s when she opened up on why she is into that business. Although their agents usually give them serious warnings not to reveal their real identities to people. For instance she may be Khadijat in Nigeria but their agent will change her name to Angel, Victoria, etc in cote d'Ivoire.
The 18years ol…

Virginity Without Blood By Akanji Abdul Azeez

Virginity is regarded as a pride of womanhood and in most african countries a virgin woman is believe to be a blessing to the marriage but many home has broken because during the first intimacy , the woman did not bleed.
Many women compalined that they did not bleed during their first sexual intercourse while it's still a mystery to many men that how would their wives tell them they are  virgin but would not bleed on their first sexual intercourse.
Medically, Some women will bleed after having sex for the first time, while others won't. Both are perfectly normal.
A woman may bleed when she has penetrative sex for the first time because of her hymen breaking.
The hymen is a thin piece of skin that partially covers the entrance to the vagina. It usually breaks during sex, if it hasn't already broken before.
The hymen can break quite easily before a woman has sex for the first time, through activities such as horse riding and other sports. A woman may not know her hymen has brok…

JUSTICE

By Olakunle Seun

Just as you see, The cry of the judge, Reckon with the seen, Not with the perceived, Assumption they say might be costly.
Reckoning with the truth, Bitter they say it is, Striving for the known, The known, hatred might develop, Saying it as seen is the best,(Just as I see, justice).
Acceptance you might want, Dejection, sooner it comes, When the hidden is unveiled, The unseen turns seen, Will pay to "say just as you see".
Never dump the truth, In an unknown land, Subjecting it to seek voice, Where it is unheard, Let it feel at home, say it " just as you see".

Embracing it, Death they say may occur, All because it is hated, But never give a dim, they can only kill, Judgement is never theirs.

Covid-19: A Myth or Reality by Akanji Abdul Azeez

A sad truth that any health crisis will spawn its own pandemic of misinformation.  In the 80s, 90s, and 2000s we heard the spread of dangerous lies about Aids – from the belief that the HIV virus was created by a government laboratory to the idea that the HIV tests were unreliable, and even the spectacularly unfounded theory that it could be treated with goat’s milk. These claims increased risky behaviour and exacerbated the crisis.
Now, we are seeing a fresh inundation of fake news – this time around the coronavirus pandemic. Is corona virus a Myth or a reality?
The misinformation from social media is that Coronavirus is a bioweapon. This is one of the myth of COVID-19. The reality of this is from the analyses that have been done , there is not any evidence that this virus has been engineered or is different from something that has been found in nature. There is no evidence debunking the fact that the virus is a naturally occurring virus like other deadly virus of the past.
There is spec…
