Manchester United have been offered Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann in exchange for Victor Lindelöf. Barca are looking to take advantage of Raphael Varane's move to Old Trafford, which has seen Lindelöf drop down the pecking order.

Real Madrid's Turns to Low and Raul for Zidane's Replacement

Whilst officials at Real Madrid hope head coach Zinedine Zidane remains at the club, plans are afoot behind the scenes should the Frenchman call time on his tenure. Real Madrid are optimistic that head coach Zinedine Zidane will remain in his position at the club into the 2021/22 season and that end to the current season delivers a positive outcome in both the Champions League and LaLiga. Given the volatile nature of the game however, the club are also working in the background on potential substitutes should the former player decide to call it a day with the Santiago Bernabéu outfit. First back-up choice Pochettino was hired as PSG boss back in January and now current Germany manager Joachim Löw and Real Madrid Castilla boss Raúl are leading candidates to fill the Frenchman's shoes should he opt to depart at the end of the current campaign.

Manchester City to turn to Kane if Haaland bid fails

Manchester City will consider making a move for Harry Kane if they cannot land their priority Erling Haaland. The Times reports that if City fail to win the race for Haaland's signature they will consider making an offer for Tottenham talisman Kane. Kane is seven years older than Haaland but has a proven Premier League goal scoring record. It is widely expected City will go hard to sign the Norway striker, who is being pursued by numerous big clubs.Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea are all interested in the Borussia Dortmund man. Manchester City have already confirmed Sergio Aguero's exit at the end of the season and are in the market to bolster their forward ranks. Cristiano Closing in on New Record

Ronaldo's goal against Luxembourg was his 103rd for Portugal, taking the 36-year-old to within six strikes of Iran legend Ali Daei's record, while he has also scored in every calendar year since making his international debut in 2004. The Juventus star squandered two gilt-edged chances to double his tally at 1-2, in what was a rather laboured performance from the reigning European champions, and Santos acknowledged he has to strike a balance between playing to the strengths of the attacking talent he has available, while also remaining organised. "Technical quality alone doesn't win here, if we don't balance these important factors," he added.   "It's not that the players don't want to. We had difficulties.   But then there was an instant reaction, we scored in an important moment. The second half was [better]. The goals appeared and we could have scored more. We had opportunities." Portugal came from behind to beat Luxembourg 1-3

Kylian Mbappé sets deadline to decide his future, Real Madrid Watches Closely

Le Parisien is reporting that the PSG star has decided against going to the Tokyo Olympics. It will give him time to ponder his future after the Euros. Summer is getting closer and Kylian Mbappé has yet to give any indication about where his future lies. He has not renewed his contract with PSG (which expires in June 2022) and if he doesn't agree new terms in the next few months, the club will be forced to sell him or risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.   Mbappé has been stalling on a new deal - three times he has rejected the offer he has on the table: a long-term contract with the promise of taking home 30 million euros per year. The club, through Leonardo, has been lightly pressurising the player both privately and publicly but to no avail. They are starting to think that it is going to be impossible to convince Mbappé to stay. The current situation favours Real Madrid, who are at the front of the queue to sign him and the player's favoured destination if

Dani Alves: "Ramos is the Best Defender I've Ever Faced''

The Sao Paulo right-back answered questions on Instagram, and looked back over some of the highlights and memorable moments of his career. Former Barcelona right-back Dani Alves took some time out to answer questions on Instagram and during the chat he revealed that his old Sevilla team mate Sergio Ramos was the toughest defender he has faced during his playing career: “Sergio Ramos - because he could be a real pain,” the Brazilian replied jokingly. After both players left Sevilla, Alves and Ramos were rivals for many years, the Spaniard at Real Madrid and Alves at Barça. The rivalry they had in countless Clásicos, in which both were occasionally the protagonists for their defensive performances as well as for their goals. Alves also confessed that he would have loved to have played alongside another Real Madrid who he faced dozens of times - Cristiano Ronaldo. The São Paulo defender is the most decorated player in football history but sees himself behind the man he considers

I Play For My 'Mourinistas' Around The World - Mourinho

Tottenham's form might have prompted scrutiny, but Jose Mourinho will always have the support of his 'Mourinistas'. Jose Mourinho says he is motivated by his 'Mourinista' supporters around the world in the face of criticism. Tottenham coach Mourinho has enjoyed a glittering managerial career, winning the Champions League with both Porto and Inter, as well as domestic titles in Portugal, England, Italy and Spain. The Portuguese has come in for criticism in recent years for a relative lack of success, however. Spurs are down in sixth in the Premier League and out of Europe, while their pragmatic style of play has also been the source of scrutiny. Mourinho is unperturbed, though, as he maintains a large support base worldwide. "Honestly, I get my strength from myself but mainly from the people that I love and the people who I know they love me, even if many of them I don't know them, I haven't met them," he said at an event with Tottenha

Chelsea Eye Lukaku Return as Back-up Plan for Haaland, New Bumper Deal for Jese Lingard at Man Utd

Romelu Lukaku is Chelsea's back-up plan if they cannot land Erling Haaland. Haaland is being circled by several top clubs including Chelsea, along with Manchester City and Real Madrid. The Borussia Dortmund talent will demand a significant transfer fee which the Blues may be able to afford. Chelsea have turned their attention to their former striker Romelu Lukaku as they look to bolster their forward options. The Telegraph reports that Haaland still remains top priority but Inter forward Lukaku is being heavily considered. The Manchester Evening News are also reporting City are interested in Lukaku as both clubs prepare to miss out on Haaland. Inter have indicated that Lukaku, who was at Chelsea from 2011 to 2014 but spent spells on loan at West Brom and Everton, is not for sale. Transfer: Liverpool considering Luis Suarez return, Real Madrid Close in on Cristiano Ronaldo

Luis Suárez could be set for a return to Liverpool with the Reds reportedly interested in an experienced striker to complement Salah, Mané and Firmino. The Uruguayan forward has been a key part of Atlético's LaLiga title push this term, with 19 league goals. The Reds are reportedly keen to bolster their forward options, with Suárez top of their list. Premier League Announces Dates for 2021-22 season

Premier League shareholders have agreed that the 2021-22 season will begin on Saturday, August 14. A start date for the next campaign was announced on Thursday, while the competition will run through until May 22 when the final round of fixtures will be staged simultaneously. The current season did not get underway until September 12 due to the coronavirus-enforced break during the first half of 2020, with top-flight action stopped in mid-March before eventually resuming on June 17. However, next term will see a return to a more familiar Premier League calendar, with the opening games coming five weeks after the conclusion of Euro 2020. The final of the delayed international tournament is scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, July 11. UEFA had planned to stage the competition across 12 host cities, though there is some doubt over the feasibility of such a proposition given the differing travel restrictions in place across Europe.

Southgate Told me to Stay in the Premier League - Lingard

Jesse Lingard and John Stones were key men for England at Russia 2018 and are now back after spells in the international wilderness. Jesse Lingard has revealed Gareth Southgate pointed him down the path towards an England recall. Southgate will take charge of his 50th game when England begin their World Cup qualifying campaign against San Marino at Wembley on Thursday. His first, against Malta in October 2016, was also Lingard's international debut and the attacking midfielder became one of Southgate's key performers as England charted a surprise run to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup. However, struggles for form and fitness at Manchester United, along with difficulties in his private life, saw Lingard fall out of the Three Lions picture. In January he joined West Ham on loan and has been a player revitalised. Five goals in seven Premier League appearances for David Moyes' men earned an England recall for the 28-year-old, who thanked Southgate for his counsel

Ronaldo's Next Club Finally Revealed

Real Madrid is very open to the possibility of bringing Ronaldo back to the Bernabéu, where the player is eager to return. However, the Juventus striker would have to accept a pay cut. Conversations between Cristiano Ronaldo’s representatives and Real Madrid are ongoing. The 36-year-old striker wants to return to the club and it is very possible that the move could happen. Although it is not a top priority for Madrid, with Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland still the main focus, a move for Ronaldo is not being ruled out. And even high-ranking club figures such as coach Zinedine Zidane and Director of Institutional Relations Emilio Butragueño, have spoken openly about the Portuguese superstar’s possible return. "It can happen," said the French coach when asked about the exciting possibility of Ronaldo’s Bernabéu comeback. Zidane would be delighted to have Ronaldo back in his squad. Juventus Ready to let Ronaldo go

If the Portuguese star makes his intention to leave clear, and a club is willing to offer 25 million euros, The Old Lady is expected to make way. "Cristiano is the best player in the world and we are not going to let him go.” Those were the confident words of Juventus’ Fabio Paratici after the humiliating defeat to Benevento. But signs are that for the right price he may well be on his way this summer. The Vecchia Signora have defended their investment and pride in having the ex-Real Madrid player in their ranks. He is a global superstar and further enhanced the exposure of the Serie A champions, however, times change very quickly. This season has been a disastrous one. After the Champions League exit, another setback in the league appears to have killed any realistic dreams of taking a 10th consecutive Scudetto. Inter Milan sit 10 points ahead. Domestic dominance was already in place but Cristiano was signed to add to their chances of lifting Europe’s greatest club priz

“My plan is to go back'' - Bale Plans Madrid Return

Currently away with the Wales national team, the 31-year-old spoke about his reasons for heading back to London on loan for a season. Real Madrid's Gareth Bale has spoken about his plan to return to the Spanish capital to see out the final year of his contract, and given apparent reasons for his decision to go out on loan to Tottenham Hotspur.   “There’s no distraction for me,” Bale said during a press conference ahead of the Wales national team's 2022 World Cup qualifier in Belgium.   “I think the main reason I came to Spurs this year was to play football first and foremost. “Going into the Euros I wanted to be match-fit. The original plan was to do a season at Spurs and after the Euros still have a year left at Real Madrid. “My plan is to go back, that’s as far I have planned.” Much of the talk in Madrid has been about using funds raised from the transfer of Bale, as well as the complete removal of his wages, to bring in a new galáctico, with Kylian Mbappé and E

Transfer Rumour: Former Liverpool Player set to Replace Mourinho at Tottenham

Tottenham have put Steven Gerrard on their list of potential replacements for José Mourinho, however, Daniel Levy is concerned over his lack of experience according to Daily Express. Jose Mourinho has been below par since moving to the White Hart lane, a run which has seen them out of the top four race which is unusual of the club. The latest disappointment is their elimination from Europa League after squadering their chances surrendering their 3 goal league away to Slavia Prague, which has generated much controversies over his stay at the club. Mourinho's tactics has been failing him, maybe he needs to go upgrade himself so that he can be among the elites coach again.

Transfer: Alaba Shuns PSG and Chelsea, will join Real Madrid or Barça

According to Sky Sports and RMC, the Austrian has ruled out signing for PSG and Chelsea as his priority is going to Real Madrid or Barcelona. Reports claims that PSG have failed in their efforts to convince Austrian international David Alaba to sign for them on a free transfer from Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old defender is now set for a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona. What at first was a list of more than five clubs interested in signing him is now down to two: Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. His agents, Pini Zahavi and Fali Ramadani, are working to get their client the best possible deal in what could be his last big contract as a top European player. Alaba has told his representatives that his priority is to go to either LaLiga club. The interest is such that he recently decided to reject Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, as Sky Sports initially reported and RMC then confirmed shortly after. The versatile player's contract with Bayern Munich runs unti

Haaland Losing Patience at Dortmund as Real Madrid Watch Closely

Real Madrid have made signing Haaland a priority for the club. And the Spanish outfit are best placed to land him for a number of reasons. The first, the player’s own wishes - he’s always liked the option of playing for Real Madrid. Secondly, because Raiola is keen to work with Real Madrid right now and finally, the good relationship between Watzke at Dortmund and Real Madrid’s president Florentino Pérez. Watzke is minded to give priority to Real Madrid if they receive a number of offers and even help with the organisation of payments.   Borussia Dortmund face Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and given the form of Guariola’s side getting through that tie would be a huge result for the club. After that they’d face Bayern Munich or PSG in the semi-finals, meaning their chances of getting to the final has to be seen as slender given the firepower arrayed against them. T he final, if they got there would be against any of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Po

Messi Breaks Another Record, after Cruising to a win over Real Sociedad

Lionel Messi celebrated becoming Barcelona's highest appearance maker of all time by scoring twice as his rampant side crushed Real Sociedad 6-1 away in La Liga on Sunday with a stunning team display. Antoine Griezmann opened the scoring by netting against his old club in the 36th minute and right back Sergino Dest stretched Barca's lead shortly before halftime after latching on to a sweeping pass from Messi. Dest struck again early in the second half before Messi controlled a sumptuous pass from Sergio Busquets and scored to mark a night in which he overtook Xavi Hernandez as Barca's record appearance maker, moving on to 768 games with the club. Ousmane Dembele struck his side's fifth goal of the night in the 71st minute after a brilliant solo run while Sociedad's Ander Barrenetxea hit arguably the best goal of the game to give his side a rare moment of joy. Messi, however, had the final say, finishing off a flowing team move in the 89th minute to score h

Italian League: Benevento stun Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus

Juventus were beaten at home by Benevento and have almost no chance of taking the Serie A title, days after they were knocked out of the Champions League. Benevento dented Juventus's Serie A title hopes on Sunday when Adolfo Gaich’s second-half strike sealed a shock 1-0 victory in Turin and ended the relegation battlers’ 11-match winless run. The Argentine pounced on a careless pass from Juve midfielder Arthur Melo to fire in the decisive goal after 69 minutes, and the toothless hosts failed to find a way past goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo. The defeat left champions Juve in third place, 10 points behind leaders Inter Milan with 11 games remaining. Benevento’s survival hopes were boosted as they moved seven points clear of the relegation zone in 16th position. "This was a game that marks a turning point; we had the right attitude," said Benevento captain Nicolas Viola. "We are overjoyed. We are a humble team and when we find courage we are hard to beat, we

Messi will not leave Barcelona - Cury

Messi has been widely tipped to leave Barcelona this summer but Cury is sure the Argentine captain will stay put. "I don’t think Leo will leave Barça ... His history in Europe began and must end in the Barcelona shirt. I am very clear about it because it is a very beautiful story of a player who is globally respected and represents the image of Argentina in every corner of the world with a lot of love,” he said. Asked whether Barcelona would at this point be open to Neymar’s return after they failed to secure the deal in the summer of 2019, Cury assured: "Barcelona’s doors are open to Neymar. They know that Neymar was wrong when he left for PSG and even Ney himself has publicly acknowledged that."

"Laporta Can get Neymar and Messi back together" - Former Neymar Scout

Former Barcelona scout and agent to Neymar, Andre Cury, believes that Laporta is the man that can make the Neymar-Messi reunion happen at Camp Nou instead of PSG. Former Barcelona scout Andre Cury is credited as the man that discovered Neymar and later worked as the Brazilian superstar’s agent. In an interview with Argentine outlet El Litoral, Cury said he believed that there is a strong possibility that Neymar and Lionel Messi will be reunited once again, but he hopes that reunion will not happen at PSG. "I would like to see Ney reunited again with Messi, but I would much more like it to be at Barcelona ... I doubt it can be done at another club,” said Cury, to whom Neymar had confessed that he was wrong to have left Barca.   “It will be in Barcelona, where they should never have been separated. I would be very happy to come back to get them back together.” Cury also revealed that had been asked to help engineer Neymar’s return to Barcelona two years ago and was close to

Ghana Must Go: The Diplomatic Nightmare Between Nigeria and Ghana

By Akanji Abdul Azeez.   I'm Akanji Abdul Azeez, I'm used to traveling by road from Cote d'Ivoire to Nigeria and before I get to Nigeria, I have to pass through Ghana borders. What I noticed anytime I travel through that route is the "hatred" in the face of Ghanaian Immigration officers towards immigrant Nigerians.  This hatred has been traced to 1969 during Kofi Abrefa Busia, the then Prime minister of Ghana. He demanded the expulsion of Nigerian migrants for reasons including economic concerns and xenophobia. In retaliation, in the early months of 1983 Shehu Shagari, the Nigerian president at the time ordered the tragic expulsion of several citizens of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Many of them had entered Nigeria as economic migrants during the 1970s without official immigration documents.  In the case of Ghanaians, both skilled and unskilled migrants were pushed by the unbearable economic conditions in Ghana to seek refuge in

Europa League: Ibrahimovic Returns to Milan to face former club Man United Today

Milan missed Theo Hernandez, Hakan Calhanoglu and Zlatan Ibrahimovic against Manchester United, but the tie is still in their hands. There was not the gulf some might have anticipated at Old Trafford last week as Manchester United welcomed an injury-hit Milan side. Four days on from a superb win at rivals Manchester City, United came within two minutes of another big result and a 1-0 lead to take to San Siro, but it was an advantage they scarcely deserved. "His return is important," head coach Stefano Pioli said of Ibrahimovic, who has been out since February with a thigh injury. "He will not be able to have 90 minutes in his legs and tomorrow we will see what to do." United were hanging on against short-handed opponents, restricted to just 41.2 per cent of the possession in the final 15 minutes, 36.4 per cent of which played out in the home side's own third. It was an encounter that should give Milan huge confidence now Hernandez, Calhanoglu and Ibrah

Europa League Team News: Solskjaer Welcomes United Big Boys

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given updates on the squad to face AC Milan on Thursday. United are back in Europa League action against Milan at San Siro on Thursday, with a place in the last-16 on the line after a 1-1 draw in last week's home leg. David de Gea is back in contention following paternity leave, although Dean Henderson has been Solskjaer's first choice for Europa League matches this season. Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek are all back in contention after returning to training this week, although Solskjaer did not wish to discuss speculation over the future of the latter midfielder after an underwhelming maiden campaign at Old Trafford to date. "There's always speculation here," he said. "As we've said they've been involved in the training session, so let's see if there's any reaction or not. Donny has been working really hard to get back available for the final stages of the season.&quo

Hazard controversy: Real Madrid and Belgium operation dispute

Eden Hazard has become the subject of a controversial decision between his club, Real Madrid, and his national team, Belgium. The player travelled to London to receive a second medical opinion on whether the ankle injury that has put him out twice since he arrived in the Spanish capital is related to his recent muscular problems. Los Blancos are in favour of Hazard going through some conservative treatment that would allow him to return to the pitch within a month and, the idea being, give him the chance to play a role in what is looking likely a critical run-in, with both LaLiga and the Champions League still within reach. Medical staff for the Belgian national team, on the other hand, believe that further surgery on the ankle would put an end to the player's problems. His recovery would clearly take longer, but it would allow him to return in perfect condition for this summer’s European Championships. The player is said to be undecided, especially with his club completely

Man City Desperate to Overcome Quarter-final hoodoo

Pep Guardiola does not believe scars of previous Champions League failures will be an issue for his Manchester City team after they sealed a return to the quarter-finals. Superb first-half goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne gave the Premier League leaders a 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach in Budapest, closing out a comprehensive 4-0 aggregate win. It means City are back at the stage of the competition where they bowed out in each of the past three seasons, but Guardiola does not feel those defeats to Liverpool, Tottenham and Lyon will play on his players' minds. "In the previous seasons I didn't see a team that didn't want to make a step forward. Every time we want to go through," he told BT Sport. "The eight best teams in Europe, every time the quality is higher and it is more difficult. "Hopefully the team can maintain this mood and we can compete, and especially do good games. Aftermath UCL Victory, Ramos Provides Update on His Next Destination

Modric provided an assist for Benzema to score the opening goal for Madrid, before a penalty from Ramos and Marco Asensio's late strike wrapped up the win shortly after a Luis Muriel free-kick for the visitors.
