President Buhari Sworn In For Second Term

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in for a second term in office on Wednesday, vowing once more to tackle crippling security threats and root out corruption in Africa's key economy.

The 76-year old leader, in power since 2015 and re-elected in February, took the oath of office for a second four-year term in the capital Abuja.

"I do solemnly swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria," Buhari said, dressed in simple white robes and traditional embroidered cap. "I will preserve, protect and defend the constitution." Buhari took the oath of office at what officials called a "low-key" ceremony.

It included red-carpet arrival flanked by bagpipers into a stadium packed with dignitaries and military guard of honour.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was also sworn into office.

Eden And The Garden Of Borussia Dortmund

Whatever the ongoing impression or speculation has of him, EDEN HAZARD is certainly no ordinary player without the maximum benefits of Charisma and brilliant maneuverings. He is a remarkable net burster whose variant has served as the yardstick with which most players conveniently measure their standards against. A voracious goal poacher with a savage spirit of conquest. He exploits the weaknesses of his opponents and mercilessly attacks with gusto.  The only comparative alternative to stopping him was to cripple him and yet it is an unusual development with rare occurrence in history. He willfully defies the logistics of injuries at will. All against the bright hope of many to fulfil the promise of his name. HAZARD: A potential risk never to trifle with.

He has continued to ascend the pinnacle of excellence through the rare combination of his fecund efficiency. Uniform versatility. Brilliantly combined with a raze of unerring marksmanship on the goal line. To professional opinion, E…

Sarri Reveals His Next Destination

Juventus have identified Maurizio Sarri as their first choice to replace departing boss Massimiliano Allegri, according to Sky in Italy.

It is understood Sarri met with Juventus officials last week with a view to replacing Allegri, who leaves Turin after five years in which he won five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italia trophies.

Sarri's agent Fali Ramadani will meet Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia to discuss the terms of his exit from Stamford Bridge on Thursday after the Europa League final against Arsenal.

Chelsea have no plans to sack Sarri this summer and they expect their head coach to report back for pre-season training at the end of their break.

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici will not announce Sarri's appointment before the Champions League final, as the club are keen to keep all options open to them in the unlikely event a last-minute approach for Jurgen Klopp or Mauricio Pochettino becomes an option.

Aston Villa Promoted to the Premier League

Aston Villa have been promoted to the Premier League after beating Derby 2-1 in the Championship play-off final on Monday.

Villa held off a late fight back from Frank Lampard's team at Wembley to book their return to the English top-flight after three years in the Championship.

Anwar El Ghazi opened the scoring late in the first half when he met Ahmed Elmohamady’s cross to beat Kelle Roos and John McGinn headed into an open goal on the hour mark after an error from the Derby goalkeeper.

Jack Marriott pulled one back for the Rams in the 81st minute in a tense finish to the game, as Jayden Bogle and Mason Mount also came close to finding the net. Towards the end of the seven minutes of injury time, Harry Wilson proved lively down the wing for Derby, but saw one cross cleared by the Villa defence and another claimed by goalkeeper Jed Steer.

Dean Smith's team held on to seal the win in a game that is said to be worth around £170 million ($216m) for the victors because of the incr…

Dortmund Sign Hazard

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach winger Thorgan Hazard.

The Belgium international has signed a five-year deal with the Bundesliga runners-up having spent five years with Gladbach.

He becomes Dortmund's second summer signing after Germany left-back Nico Schulz completed his move from Hoffenheim on Tuesday.

The final fee for Hazard has not been disclosed by either club, with reports suggesting it could be anywhere from €25 million (£22m/$28m) to €40m (£35.2m/$44.7m).

Hazard has had an agreement in place to join Dortmund for some time, with only the technicalities of the deal between the two clubs required to get it over the line.

The 26-year-old leaves Gladbach having made 182 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 46 goals and laying on 44 assists.

Messi Wins Pichichi Trophy

Lionel Messi has won the Pichichi Trophy for the sixth time after finishing the season as La Liga's top scorer with 36 goals.

It is the third time in a row the Barcelona star has received the award and sees him equal the record for most wins that was set by former Athletic Club star Telmo Zarra 66 years ago.

Messi finished clear at the top of the chart, scoring both of his side's goals as they finished the campaign with a 2-2 draw at Eibar, putting him 15 goals ahead of second best Luis Suarez and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. No player has ever won the Pichichi by such a clear margin - the previous record of 14 was set in 1986-87 by Hugo Sanchez.

The Argentina star is also on course to win the European Golden Shoe for the third consecutive year and sixth in his career. He has scored four goals more than nearest challenger Kylian Mbappe, who seemed to put some pressure on Messi in the race by scoring a double in Paris Saint-Germain's 4-0 win over Dijon. The French st…

My Girlfriend - Episode Three

We were many leaving Amphitheatre at the same time, some were rushing, probably because they were having another class elsewhere at that time, every attempt to get to Miss Beauty proved abortive and I gave up after I got to ODLT1 and discovered she was having another class. She looked back at me and gave a terrible smile that got me more pissed that I was forced to raise my middle finger at her and then walked away. That moment, I just walked away and went straight to Faculty of Administration basement to sit down and cool my head off.
At the basement was Grace who was going through her Sociology note and as a sharp guy that I was, I quickly sat beside her to beg for note which of course she refused to give me except I will quickly make photocopy of it, and instantly I took the note to one Iya Ayo that used to make photocopies back then, and so I got my first class note photocopied, all thank to the beautiful Grace. “What do you say about we eating suya tonight?” I asked Grace and my…

Add Value To Your Task

By Joshua Nicholas

The refusal to pay value added tax (VAT) is not the problem, but the inability to add value to our task.
Everyone in the country is entitled to a task. Whatever you do is important; the ability for you to add value to it is inevitable.

In the absence of value, a mortgager can turn a morgue cleaner, and a beautiful community a ghetto.
What does it take to paint? It's not easy ... replies a man that values his painting.
Value is no pride. If a calabash owner calls it broken in no time will people turn it a waste bin.

It is lack of value that will make someone turn a drainage system to a refuse dump; and the consequences will be for all. It is lack of value that will make a Nigerian citizen squeeze her country's currency for no cause. It is lack of value that will make a driver go drunk and still drive; because there is no value been placed on his or her life and the loss of it might be inevitable.

It is lack of value that will make a Nigerian go to Kenya to l…

Mbappe Set To Leave PSG

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has thrown his future at the club into doubt by claiming he has reached what he sees as a “turning point” in his career.

Speaking after accepting the Ligue 1 Player of the Year Award this evening, the 20-year-old French international suggested he would like a bigger role going forward after claiming the Ligue 1 title with PSG this season.

However, Mbappe said that role could come either at PSG or “maybe somewhere else”, casting his future into doubt while hinting that he could leave the club in search of a new challenge.

"Of course there were some disappointments [this season] but it's part of football, we managed to win this league," he said after accepting the award on Sunday.

"I would like to thank the players, the coach, the club again. It's important for me because I come to a first or a second turning point in my career.

"I discovered a lot of things here. I feel it's time to have more responsibility. I h…

Mbappe Wins It All At Ligue One Awards

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe scooped both major prizes at the UNFP Awards on Sunday.

The 20-year-old, who hinted his future may lie away from Paris this summer, collected both the UNFP Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year gongs to cap a fine individual season.

In doing so Mbappe becomes the first player to be named Young Player of the Year in three consecutive seasons. He is also the first player to win both in the same season after succeeding teammate Neymar to the senior prize.

Mbappe was also named in the Team of the Season alongside five of his PSG teammates - Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Angel Di Maria, Marco Verratti and Neymar.

Other winners on the night include Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema, who was named top overseas Frenchman after scoring 30 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions this season, his best tally since 2012.

Lille boss Christophe Galtier was named Ligue 1 Coach of the Year after guiding Les Dogues to second place and a spot in n…

Kompany Becomes Anderlecht Manager

Former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany will become Anderlecht's player-manager following his departure from the Premier League champions, the defender has confirmed.

The 33-year-old, who began his professional career with the Belgian club in his home nation, returns to the First Division A side after an absence of 13 years, after he announced his exit from the Citizens.

"For the next three years, I will take up the role of Player-Manager of RSC Anderlecht," the defender wrote in an open letter to supporters. "Belgium’s finest.

"This may come as a surprise to you. It’s the most passionate yet rational decision I’ve ever made.

"As a footballer, I was born and raised at RSC Anderlecht. Since the age of 6, I have been one with that club. A history of 34 league titles, they are second to none."

The centre-back went on to explain how the decision to return to the side where he made his debut came around, explaining a meeting that he held with chair…

CR7 Wins Another Award In Serie A

Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been awarded the Serie A Player of the Season award, in his first season in Italy.

Ronaldo led the Turin giants to their eighth straight Scudetto with his 21 goals in the league leading the team.

The timing of the award is unusual as Serie A individual awards have always been given out all at the same time, after the conclusion of the season, but Ronaldo will be recognised before their game against Atalanta on Sunday.

The other award-winners include Inter’s Samir Handanovic, who wins Goalkeeper of the Year.

Kalidou Koulibaly scoops the Defender of the Year gong, and the Napoli man is joined by Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Fabio Quagliarella of Sampdoria and Nicolo Zaniola, who plays for Roma.

The final three players are awarded midfielder, striker and young talent of the year respectively.

Game of Thrones Premier Season 8 Episode 5: The Final Moments

"The Red keep has never fallen before. It won't fall today"

This happens to be one of the most conceited. Foolish. And stupidest verbal mistakes of Cersei Lannister in the last episode. The absurdity of the statement and the overall pomposity behind it consumed me with hilarity. And of course a bit of pity If one were to consider the ramification of the disparaging scene. And her woe begone ashen countenance spelling dread. And yet glorying the acceptance of  inexorable doom.

It would seem in the heat of her hubris and of course the desperation to find for herself a measure of consolation from the condemnation all swirling around her she resorted to making duplicitous assumptions to convince herself of the justifications of her actions. It is a coward of a way for a Queen who had been known to carry a penchantment for invoking and instilling dread.

Cersei hadn't felt more helpless in her life until that reckoning moment. It was her bitter realisation to know that …

Man City Demolish Watford To Clinch FA Cup Title

Manchester City clinched an unprecedented domestic treble by winning the FA Cup thanks to a Raheem Sterling-inspired 6-0 hammering of Watford at Wembley, equalling the record for the biggest win in the competition's final.

Pep Guardiola's men needed penalties to beat Chelsea in the EFL Cup final and were run extremely close by Liverpool in the Premier League, but Saturday's triumph was a procession as City rounded off an historic campaign in incredible fashion.

Although the first big chance of the game was created by Watford, a dominant City made them pay just before the half-hour with David Silva's first goal since December and Raheem Sterling doubled their advantage with 38 minutes on the clock.

Watford's positive start to the second period was futile and ruthless City swept them away in style, as Jesus set up substitute Kevin De Bruyne and then got in on the act himself.

Sterling rounded off a glorious day for Guardiola's men by completing his hat-trick wit…

What Do You Do For Play

_By Joshua Nicholas_

My heart bleeds as the news reads: "9,822 stranded Nigerians have been returned from 10 different countries in the past 18 months."

It keeps on happening, day by day; and we have refused to learn over time.
Where is the greener pasture?
Which better life?

What do you want to offer?
The youths of these days don't wanna settle down and take life easy. Many are not interested in investing in their abilities, and making something meaningful out of their lives. Everyone wants to get rich 'quick quick'.

A foreigner came to Nigeria and said: "I love this country, because you can literally pick money in the streets of Nigeria." Is it not the same country you want to leave, that Indians come with just suitcase with two shirts and they leave with helicopters.

The questions we are meant to ask ourselves are, what am I seeing? What is the problem I have decided to solve for mankind?

Because money is just an attachment to the world of problems…

Bayern Munich Win Bundesliga Title

Bayern Munich have been crowned Bundesliga champions for the seventh time in a row after beating Eintracht Frankfurt in the last game of the season.

Niko Kovac's team held a two-point lead at the top of the German top flight heading into matchday 34 and a superior goal difference to Borussia Dortmund, meaning a draw would have been enough to seal the crown even if their nearest challengers won at Borussia Monchengladbach.

But there was very little doubt Allianz Arena, as the reigning champions wasted little time in getting their advantage with Kingsley Coman scoring just four minutes into the contest.

There was a momentary worry as late in the first half a Serge Gnabry goal was ruled out after VAR review, while Frankfurt found an equaliser early in the second half through Sebastien Haller.

With Dortmund leading through Jadon Sancho, another Frankfurt goal without Bayern reply would have put the champions under threat.

But just three minutes after Haller's equaliser, David Ala…

Allegri Leaves Juventus

Juventus have announced that head coach Massimiliano Allegri will leave the club at the end of the 2018-19 season.

The Italian boss' future has been in question since being dumped out of the Champions League at the hands of Ajax, with the Italian champions having been firmly among the favourites to lift the crown.

Indeed, two finals have been reached during Allegri's five-year spell at the club and the arrival or Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer was seen as the final piece of the puzzle required for the Old Lady to go all the way.

Having failed to do so, the Bianconeri and the 51-year-old are set to part ways in the summer. A statement on the club's website reads:

"Massimiliano Allegri will not sit on the Juventus bench in the 2019-2020 season."

No statements have been made by either party as to where Allegri - who has won five Scudetti, four Coppa Italia trophies and two Supercoppa Italiana titles during his time in Turin - will end up next season.

Senate Passes Bill Recognising June 12 As Democracy Day

The Senate on Thursday passed the Public Holiday Act Amendment Bill to recognise June 12 as the new Democracy Day.

The bill was passed almost one year after President Muhammadu Buhari announced that the date would replace May 29 for Nigerians to commemorate the return to the civilian government.

While some members of the National Assembly had criticised the President that Democracy Day cannot be changed by just a declaration, others commended his decisions.

President Buhari’s declaration was later approved in the Senate by an act of parliament after the lawmakers considered the bill seeking to amend the Public Holiday Act on Thursday.

The bill, which is in concurrence with that of the House of Representatives, will now be forwarded to the President for assent.

President Buhari had on June 6, 2018 announced June 12 as the new date which Democracy Day would be celebrated in the country, to honour the presumed winner of the 1993 presidential election, Moshood Abiola, who was fondly know…

Man United Unveil New Home Kit For Next Season

Manchester United have unveiled their new home kit for the 2019-20 season, which is inspired by the legendary treble-winning side of 1998-99.

David de Gea and Paul Pogba, two players whose futures at Old Trafford are in doubt, featured in the unveiling of the new adidas kit.

The kit is released 20 years after Sir Alex Ferguson's men clinched the treble with a famous 2-1 comeback win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

In that game in Barcelona, Teddy Sheringham equalised in the 91st minute before current United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored a dramatic 93rd-minute winner.

The minutes of those two goals will be displayed on each sleeve of the new United jersey for the forthcoming season.

The dates of United's three trophy wins that season are displayed on the bottom of the shirt.

United's jersey will also feature a new commemorative gold crest with a black background that is similar to a design worn in the 1998-99 campaign.

Real Madrid Completes First Summer Signing

Luka Jovic has completed a £52.4m (€60m) move to Real Madrid from Eintracht Frankfurt, as per reliable reports.

The 21-year-old Serbia international striker has signed a five-year contract with the Spanish giants, which will earn him £43.7m (€50m) in total or £8.7m a year.

Frankfurt will pay Jovic's former club Benfica around £10.5m of the transfer fee.

The striker joined Frankfurt on loan from Benfica in the summer and last month the Bundesliga club exercised their option to make the move permanent.

Jovic has scored 17 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances this season and 10 more in the Europa League, where Frankfurt lost to Chelsea on penalties in the semi-finals.

How To Prevent Miscarriage

Many women complain about sperm leakages or sperm pouring out of their vagina after sexual intercourse, attributing it as the cause of their infertility. The cervix is an anatomical extension of the vagina and the uterus that permits flow of fluids to and fro the uterus. Hence it mustn't be completely closed as well as the vagina orifice. Secondly, what your husband ejaculates is semen made up of:

¶ Sperm cells that fertilize your egg to bring pregnancy.
¶Prostate fluid
¶Seminal fluid
¶Cowper's fluid
¶Bulbourethral fluid.

All those fluids only serve to lubricate a mobile pathway for the former (The sperm).
For some women, when your husband ejaculate into you, not all the Fluid will remain inside, Some quantity of the Fluid will always drip out of Your Vagina after the act and that doesn't mean you won't take in. What is dripping out is much of the glandular exudates forming the Fluid with a little or no sperm at all in it. In other word, the Fluid can run out like oce…

Griezmann Confirms Atletico Exit

Antoine Griezmann has confirmed he is leaving Atletico Madrid in a video posted to the club's official Twitter account.

The France star only signed a five-year contract extension last summer, but has now said his time with the club will end after Saturday's match against Levante.

The move comes amid rumours of a new bid from Barcelona for Griezmann, who turned down the Blaugrana's advances last summer before going on to help France lift the World Cup in Russia.

Barca are reportedly willing to pay Griezmann's release clause, which Goal understands will be €130 million (£113m/$146m) on July 1, for him to join ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

The Catalans were in hot pursuit of Griezmann last year, but the France star opted to sign a new contract with Atletico through 2023, announcing his intention in a televised special called "La Decision".

But the 28-year-old has now had a change of heart, and will depart the club he joined from Real Sociedad in 2014.

Guardiola Named EPL Manager Of The Season

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been named the League Managers Association (LMA) Premier League Manager of the Season.

The 48-year-old has collected the award for the second year in a row after overseeing City’s successful title tilt against Liverpool.

Under Guardiola’s watch, the Citizens amassed a hugely impressive points tally of 98 - the second-highest in Premier League history and a total only beaten by City themselves in the previous campaign.

In taking City to a second straight crown, Guardiola is just the third Premier League manager to retain the title following Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho.

That was enough to see the City boss fight off competition from Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino and Wolves’ Nuno Espirito Santo.

"It’s an honour to receive this award," Guardiola said in a pre-recorded video shown at the dinner.

MY GIRLFRIEND – Episode Two

It was time for our first Sociology class at the Almighty Amphitheatre, OMG!!! It was seriously pathetic, right there inside Amphi as we used to call it were pens and bags keeping seats for late comers. For God’s sake, I took bike from Health Centre when I knew I will not be able to make the best seat if I were to trek through Moremi and White House, and upon getting to the venue, pens and bags were already keeping seats for people. Blood of Obadiah! I lost the gentleman in me as I forcefully sat beside this beautiful lady, her beauty became my air condition, I became so cool upon setting my eyes on her, she was chocolate in complexion, and portable in stature, at least with what I could see on the seat. “Lekan, you have hit jackpot” was what I thought to myself. “Hi beauty” was what unintentionally came out of my mouth without my permission, but unfortunately for me, she gave me this ridiculous look that made every little cell of my body cry for my bad luck. She did not respond, and…

Emefiele, filled with smile, shook hands with the president who congratulated him over his recent re-appointment at the governor of the apex bank.

President Buhari, last week nominated Emefiele for a second term in office.

Following the nomination, the President forwarded his name to the Senate for confirmation.
Emefiele was first appointed by former President Goodluck Jhan in 2014 and was retained after Buhari assumed office in 2015.

Hazard Ready To Quit Chelsea,Advises Sarri

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has urged the club to stick with Maurizio Sarri next season despite the Belgium international planning his own departure from Stamford Bridge.

Hazard dropped his biggest hint yet that he is set to leave west London for Real Madrid this summer following the Blues' final Premier League games of the season at Leicester City on Sunday.

Hazard believes that the five-time Premier League champions are on the right path with 'Sarriball'.

"I think if they can keep the same philosophy as this season, keep playing football like we tried to do it this season, but in a better way - that’s it," Hazard said when asked how the club improve going forward.

"When you look at the season they are far better than us, Manchester City and Liverpool. If we want to compete with them next season, we need to do it better. It’s that simple. We need to win games in football. If you don’t, you’re in trouble.

"Yes, it is one of my best [seasons] in terms o…

Nigeria Will Get Better

By Joshua Nicholas

I believe on our core values
I believe in the integrity we have chosen to protect
I believe on our unwavering loyalty to this great nation
I believe in the uncommon love we have decided to portray.

Nigeria is an epitome of beauty, filled with people with a loving soul. A people of dignity, esteem and selflessness.
I believe in the honesty we have chosen to uphold; good people - great nation.
I believe with unity we can achieve our dreams. If we work together as a family, we can go far. I believe if we stop seeing that 'he is Yoruba', and she is Igbo', the sky will not limit her greatness.

I believe if we start judging people by their abilities, their skill, attitude and potentials; my country will live up to it's meaning "The green land". Not by their tribes, religion, ethnic groups, social clubs and wealth class.

I believe in the "green creed" where everything in this nation prospers. The climate has been provided, the soil is f…

Man City Beat Brighton To Win EPL Title

Manchester City came from behind to claim back-to-back Premier League titles with a 4-1 win at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Knowing only a final day victory could guarantee glory at the expense of Jurgen Klopp's relentless Liverpool, Pep Guardiola's men were stunned by a 27th-minute Glenn Murray opener.

Final-day specialist Sergio Aguero found a response within 83 seconds and Aymeric Laporte converted Riyad Mahrez's 38th-minute corner to put City back in control of their destiny.

Mahrez, a surprise selection after an underwhelming debut season at the Etihad Stadium, made good on his record-signing status and Ilkay Gundogan added further gloss for the raucous travelling supporters who have now seen their team prevail in four of the past eight Premier League seasons.

Salah, Mane & Aubameyang Claim EPL Golden Boot

Mohamed Salah will not consider the Golden Boot to be consolation for missing out on the Premier League title, especially as he must share the 2018-19 award with Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after seeing them join him on 22 goals.

Salah has now claimed that prize in successive years, despite drawing a blank on his most recent outing.

Sadio Mane was on target for Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield, though, and ended the day with a double in a contest which counted for little in the grand scheme of things.

Aubameyang also hit that mark for Arsenal during a trip to Burnley, with his brace helping Unai Emery’s side to a 3-1 victory.

Meanwhile, Liverpool goalkeeper Allison Becker won the Golden Glove award.

Hazard Wins It All At Chelsea Season Awards

Eden Hazard has won a hat-trick of accolades at Chelsea's awards ceremony, claiming the prize for Chelsea Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year and Goal of the Season, making Blues history in the process.

He has also won the main prize - Chelsea Player of the Year - for the fourth year running, breaking another club record.

No Blues player has recorded more goals or assists than the Belgian, who has scored 19 times and assisted 16 more in 50 appearances across all competitions.

He also has the highest combined total of goals and assists - with 16 and 15, respectively - in the Premier League so far this season, while also ranking highest in the division for chances created, successful dribbles and touches in the opposition box.

The 28-year-old earned the club's Goal of the Season award for his incredible match-winning, solo strike against Liverpool at Anfield in the Carabao Cup.

Hazard's phenomenal goal saw him lift that accolade for the third time in his Che…

Georginio Wijnaldum, on as a substitute for the injured Andy Robertson, made it 2-0 with a low drive nine minutes after the break before the midfielder almost immediately made it 3-0 on the night and 3-3 on aggregate with a superb header.

And Origi, starting the game because of injuries to Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, completed a remarkable victory for Liverpool when he swep…
