Give me a gloomy mat
That I may sit on it
To appreciate the beauty of my mistress
My mistress long for my love
The shade of love covers both of us

I'm not flattered by anyone's beauty
For my mistress beauty is beyond
The beauty of the man-made one
The beauty stretches my neck all day
Oh! Her beauty shines like a golden vase

My confidence Is that of a richman
Who have nothing to worry about
I'm morose to have my rose
My rose is beautiful than a neck rosary
I'm deeply in love with her
My rose, the source of my confidence

You're the reason for watering you
To adore you close to my heart every moment
Every moment to me seems like a golden house
A golden house, a marble house, what else?
My soul pray to God for you to stay with me

For crops to germinate, it need to rain
Or else we won't get any grain
For one to get a good name
It takes a lot to stay fit, not lame
The body sacrifice as the main
For the existence of brain
You stay holy and out of shame
To win your game
Bringing on refrain by saying it again
Won't make one remain
It only repeat itself to be ready to tame
Keep changing itself but it is still d same
To remove your stain
And conquer your chain
You need to be at God's realm
And not scarification gods taking ram

To remain like a king and reign
You need to keep yourself restrain

For you to have an aim
You need to think again and again
No need of cream and rim
To think and dream of big name
You need to get your energy working like Abel and Cain
With time you get replenish and regain

Don't be like patience Dame
By saying I conquer,I saw and I came
Arrange yourself and be prepare for the stain
For all success that come with gain
Are always frontier by pain
Play a neat game
To get a good na…

The young ones dancing and cascading
Believing for their open breed
Overshadowing the old one's belief
While the cloth of leadership shouldn't be worn by thieves
We hope for a better nation

Even children are unrest with this governance
Tempting the vibrant ones to romance failure
Romancing what is an eye sore
Which we have to treat the visible sore
We hope for a better nation

Why must they keep burying our heads?
When they know we're the hope of the nation
We must take charge from the notion
Believing to build a build a better nation
We hope for a better nation

Standing tall above the high hills
Education must be our tool
Cutting the unwanted weeds
Our intellectual reasoning cannot be a weed
We hope for a better nation

We long for a better nation
A nation with no oppression
Opposition with no sense of notion
Will be a total disaster in our nation
We hope for a better nation

We beesech our heroes past to guide us
The heavenly God mustn't be demised
For our land must hea…

"Nigeria, We Hail Thee" (1960-1978)

Nigeria, we hail thee,
Our own dear native land,
Though tribe and tongue may differ,
In brotherhood we stand,
Nigerians all are proud to serve
Our sovereign Motherland.
Our flag shall be a symbol
That truth and justice reign,
In peace or battle honour'd,
And this we count as gain,
To hand on to our children
A banner without stain.
O God of all creation,
Grant this our one request,
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed,
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may be blessed.

The anthem's lyrics were written by
Lillian Jean Williams, a British expatriate who lived in Nigeria when it achieved independence. While Frances Berda composed the music for Nigeria
